In the Pre-College Residential Program, students reside in campus residence halls and are enrolled in on-campus courses for academic credit alongside Penn undergraduates, while in the Online Program, students enroll exclusively in online courses and participate from home alongside other Penn undergraduate students.

Each year, about 1,500 students participate in Summer Session for a variety of reasons. Some enroll in courses to help reach their second major, or minor, or certificate. Some see it as a great opportunity to focus on more difficult courses or foreign language classes. Others want to get some courses out of the way so they can study abroad later. And still others use Summer Session to take courses they have difficulty getting in to during the regular academic year. But all agree, the casual and more relaxed environment of the summer classes, coupled with the individual attention they receive, make Duke University Summer Session special.





High School Summer Launch is a one week residential program for students looking for a pre-college experience in an accelerated format. This program is ideal for students who want to participate in the development of important college readiness skills.





The Wharton Pre-baccalaureate Program is an academically intensive opportunity for exceptional high school juniors and seniors to enroll in credit-bearing courses that span the breadth of Wharton’s business curriculum.
