Key Facts

Camp Broadway is designed for theater-loving kids, ages 10-17, to develop their confidence, character and presentation skills through ensemble performance. The five-day camp is open to all children, regardless of previous performing experience.

The Camp Broadway team is comprised of distinguished actors, writers and designers directly from New York. Campers learn acting, scene study, improvisation, music theory, singing and dancing, while building self-esteem, teamwork skills, and creative potential. Campers will also watch the Broadway show HAIRSPRAY. The week culminates in a Family Finale performance.

Format

CAMP BROADWAY will take place on ASU campus in Tempe. The program begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. every day. Camp concludes at 5:30 p.m.
CAMP BROADWAY provides water and healthy snacks throughout the day. We also provide lunch on Thursday and dinner on Wednesday before the Broadway show.

Requirements:

Completed scholarship application and photo of child applicant
1-page letter from parent or guardian outlining the circumstances of the request and why this child would benefit from the experience of attending Camp Broadway
A 250-word essay written by the child applicant that includes his/her theatre experience (if any), description of interests and why he/she wants to attend Camp Broadway
A letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or friend detailing the child’s unique talents and how participation in the program can benefit the child and enhance his/her skills and understanding of the artform.

Financial Aid

Due to the generosity of the Rosenbluth Family Foundation and our ASU Gammage VIP donors, ASU Gammage offers a limited number of Camp Broadway scholarships based on financial need.
