Converse International School of Languages (CISL) offers intensive English camps for teens in locations throughout the USA. Students live and study on some of the most beautiful university campuses in the U.S.–Yale University, Georgetown University, University of California, Berkeley (San Francisco), University of San Diego, Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles).




CISL students will be actively engaged in their learning process through a project-driven English program. Students will reinforce their language skills, as well as develop new ones which will help them succeed in a postsecondary setting. Through a variety of projects and task-based activities, including debates, presentations, research, and teamwork they will improve their communicative and leadership abilities. The Global Leadership Summer Program will not only provide students with an amazing academic experience, but also offer an opportunity to develop international friendships during an exciting, fun-filled summer!
CISL International Junior Programs offer:
Summer English camps for teens at Loyola University Chicago, Yale University, Georgetown University, Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles), University of California Berkeley, and the University of San Diego
Winter (January) and summer English language programs for teens in San Diego (homestay) and San Francisco (residence)

Program Includes: English lessons (20 hours instruction per week), 3 hours of afternoon cultural workshops per week, all meals, accommodation with WiFi, daily activities.

Loyola University Chicago (LUC)
CISL’s prestigious English Camp in Chicago provides students with numerous opportunities to explore the Midwest of the U.S. One of the most exciting English camps in the United States: CISL’s activity calendar is packed with events immersing students in physical, social, and cultural activities while providing students a chance to improve their English outside of class. Afternoon, evening, and weekend activities allow students to explore the many museums, theaters, and parks of North Chicago. Full day Saturday excursions allow students to explore Chicago and Lake Michigan.
Cultural workshops: In addition to English classes Monday-Friday 9:00 am-12:30 pm, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 1:30 -3:00 pm, Chicago English camp students will engage in workshops that focus on the Arts and Architecture.
YALE UNIVERSITY
Experience an English camp for teens at one of the most prestigious and iconic Ivy League schools. Students live in Yale University’s dorms and take classes on the Yale campus. During the afternoon and weekends, students explore New Haven, Connecticut, and the Northeast Coast (including day trips to New York City and Boston).
Cultural workshops: In addition to English classes Monday-Friday 9:00 am-12:30 pm, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 1:30-3:00 pm, Yale English camp students will participate in theme-based Cultural Workshops focused on College Readiness.
GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY
Discover East Coast charm at its best in Georgetown, a historic neighborhood of Washington D.C. with 18th century architecture and cobblestone streets. On the beautiful Georgetown University campus, Junior Program English students become a part of the university that is the alma mater of numerous diplomats, judges, and U.S. Presidents. During their excursions, students venture to East Coast locations such as New York City, Baltimore, and Rehoboth Beach.
Cultural Workshops: In addition to English classes 5 days per week 9:00 am-12:30 pm, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 1:30 -3:00 pm, students will participate in Cultural Workshops which focus on Leadership.
UC BERKELEY
Artists, musicians, and academics flock to the charming college town of Berkeley, home to one of the most academically acclaimed universities in the United States. CISL students enjoy the small-town feel of Berkeley and the excitement of nearby San Francisco, which is just a short trip away. As one of the most environmentally-friendly cities in the United States, Berkeley’s streets are lined with trees and its neighborhoods filled with parks and green spaces where students can enjoy the beautiful California weather and unique Berkeley culture.
Cultural Workshops: Aside from English classes Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon (1:30 p.m.), students will participate in lively debates and conversation that relate directly to your activities in the afternoon / weekend.
LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY
Southern California charm meets classic campus beauty with Loyola Marymount University (LMU), a gorgeous university in Los Angeles, California. English summer program students live in the dorms of LMU and take classes on its beautiful and quiet campus, then spend afternoons and weekends exploring exciting Los Angeles and the rest of sunny Southern California.
Cultural Workshops: In addition to English classes Monday-Friday 9:00 am-12:30 pm, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 1:30 – 3:00 pm, students will participate in a theme-based Cultural Workshops focused on the Film and Music Industry.
UNIVERSITY OF SAN DIEGO (CAMPUS OR HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION)
With spectacular views of the San Diego, Mission Bay, and the Pacific Ocean, the University of San Diego (USD) is most certainly the “finest” campus of “America’s Finest City.” The University of San Diego conveniently provides CISL English Junior Program students easy access to some of San Diego’s best beaches––Mission and Pacific Beach––and is minutes from Downtown and Old Town San Diego.
Cultural Workshops: In addition to English classes Monday-Friday 9:00 am-12:30 pm, on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 1:30-3:00 pm, San Diego ESL Camp students will participate in Cultural Workshops focused on Environment and Sustainability.
All programs are for students between the ages of 13 and 17.
1-20 Form/F-1 Student Visa CISL is authorized to issue a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) to qualifying full-time students. The I-20 form is used when applying for a student visa (F-1) and will only be issued for the number of weeks that your tuition is paid and that you are enrolled full-time (18 hours or more per week). You can extend your course at CISL, and a revised I-20 will be issued. The visa must be obtained at the U.S. Embassy in your home country before your departure.
If you require an I-20 form, you must provide CISL with documents showing that you have enough money to pay for all of your tuition and living expenses while you are studying at CISL as well as a copy of your passport and your home address. Please send these documents with your application.
Airport transfers are NOT included, but are an option for an additional fee. All students must pay a $150 (US) cash deposit to the Program Manager upon arrival. The deposit is refunded on departure after a room inspection. Please note that the deposit may also be retained for rule infractions.
