Summer at Hopkins offers an unrivaled opportunity to learn from Hopkins’ world-renowned instructors and connect with academically oriented students from around the globe. Select from a host of programs in medicine, neuroscience, and psychology to broaden your knowledge, enhance your college application, and earn academic credit.







Step into a college classroom, where you’ll learn from our exceptional instructors, with visits from top researchers and experts. Your typical day includes instructor-led morning lectures followed by afternoon outings, presentations by guest speakers, and other engaging social and educational opportunities.
When you live on-campus during your Pre-College Program, you get the best Johns Hopkins has to offer throughout your stay—from an immersive curriculum within state-of-the-art facilities to the dining and social activities in and around the area. You are welcome to register for a total of one program per session, in each of the three sessions.
When you decide to commute to your Pre-College Program, you get to learn and socialize each day at the Homewood Campus while still enjoying the comforts of home. You are welcome to register for a total of one program per session, in each of the three sessions.

For All Applicants
A cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required for either Pre-College Programs or Summer Term Undergraduate Courses. Your official academic documents should include Fall 2022 grades, or your school can include a recent report card.
For Pre-College Program Applicants
Successful completion of one year of high school is required prior to the program’s start date.
For Summer Term Course Applicants
Successful completion of two years of high school is required prior to the course’s start date. Specific course prerequisites must also be met.

3- The Application Fee
The $85.00 USD application fee is required to submit your online application and is non-refundable.
Note: In rare instances, additional documentation may be requested in order to complete your admissions decision.
4- Additional Requirements for International Student Applicants
If you live outside of the United States, you are encouraged to apply early to ensure sufficient time for all necessary arrangements. Please review the full details of these International Students’ admissions requirements:

Tuition and Program Costs
The tuition, daily lunches, and programming fees for each 1-credit Pre-College Program are the same. As a commuting student, you may in enroll in more than one session, but only in one Pre-College Program per session. There is an $85 USD application fee for your application. Please note that no matter how many Pre-College Programs you are pursuing this summer, you will only need to provide a single program’s Initial Payment of $1,950 USD prior to enrollment.

Whether you’re interested in a Pre-College Program or undergraduate Summer Term courses, you may be eligible for assistance toward tuition and other costs.
Dean’s Fellowship Award
Summer at Hopkins’ staff is committed to providing merit-based assistance to outstanding applicants to help meet the cost of attendance. In past years, nearly 200 students each summer have received a partial tuition award.
Pre-College Program applicants who wish to be considered for a Dean’s Fellowship Award must complete their online application by March 17, 2023 and indicate this request on the “Additional Information” page of their application. Please submit all application materials by this date, including all relevant transcripts.
