The Bronfman Center offers summer cohorts for high school and college students to develop professional and pre-professional skills. The Collegiate Leadership Internship Program (CLIP) is a 6-week summer internship experience for college students, and Summer Excelerator is a week-long leadership program for current high school students.

Summer Excelerator
Summer Excelerator is a week-long leadership and pre-professional program for current high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The experience blends leadership development training and Jewish identity building. Using New York City as a canvas, participants will explore their identities while gaining valuable professional and leadership skills.
CLIP
The Collegiate Leadership Internship Program (CLIP) is a 6-week summer paid internship experience in New York City. Housed at the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life at NYU, CLIP matches undergraduate students with internships at a variety of Jewish communal organizations throughout New York City. CLIP participants intern Monday through Thursday and spend Fridays in seminars that focus on professional development, leadership development, and Jewish identity development.
Applicants must live within a commutable distance of NYC (no housing provided).
Participants will gain confidence as they apply for college knowing they have a university-based program on their resume, with an NYU certificate of completion. They will gain entrepreneurial skills that will put them a step ahead of their peers. They will also gain a new network of friends, colleagues, and mentors that will contribute to a life-changing summer and a taste of what it’s like to be a student at NYU by receiving access to NYU’s campus and facilities.
CLIP
Interns spend four days each week at their job placements and one day each week in meaningful seminars and workshops led by leaders in the NYC Jewish community. CLIP provides interns with mentorship, opportunities to develop competitive professional skills, and a cohort of talented and driven peers with whom to think and grow.
Applicants submit their application and a non-refundable $20 application processing fee. The CLIP team reviews applications and reaches out about next steps. Selected applicants will interview for internship placements. Matches are based on the candidate’s interests and needs of the partner organizations. Once the placement supervisor and proposed candidate mutually confirm the match, intern signs contract within 7 days of offer and receives information about the best summer of their lives. CLIP interns get paid a $3,500 stipend, in two installments, for their work throughout the summer. This stipend is dependent on interns meeting all of the goals set in their signed contract.
Each internship placement is different, since interns take on different roles in each organization based on their professional interests and the skills they want to gain for their future career. CLIP recommends that clerical work should make up less than 30% of an intern’s portfolio.
On Fridays, the CLIP cohort meets to dive into topics of professional development, leadership development, and Jewish identity development. Past seminar topics have included: creating a post-college Jewish community, crafting a personal narrative, and building a team.
