Our summer courses give students from around the world the opportunity to explore a subject of interest in a small-class setting with Oxford-style teaching.
Summer courses for ages 12-14
Our “Discover” Oxford summer courses for students aged 12-14 are the perfect mix of theory and hands-on learning. They let you focus on a field you’re interested in, and inspire you to explore potential future options along the way.
Discover Business
Want to know what life in the business world is really like? On this business summer course, you’ll learn basic economics, corporate law, leadership, management, and public speaking. You’ll also explore the roles of marketing and social media in modern business.
Discover Medicine
If you’re interested in health care and helping people, this summer medicine course is for you. Alongside theory, you’ll look at X-rays, discuss real clinical cases, and learn about recent and future advances in medical techniques and research.
Discover Technology
Are you fascinated by rockets and robots? Do you love playing with computers? On this technology summer course, you’ll learn how websites are built using different coding languages, design a rocket using practical applications of maths and physics, and build your own hydraulics system.
Summer courses for ages 15-18
Our “Experience” Oxford summer courses for students aged 15-18 delve deep into a subject, with a focus on practical application balanced with real-world theory. This combination helps secondary school students try out some of the key aspects of the subject they want to explore (and possibly go on to pursue in university).
Experience Business & Enterprise
This course brings business, economics and management to life, to help you better understand what it’s like to pursue study in this field. You’ll explore different types of businesses, discover a range of economic models, learn about game theory and financial markets, and see how management theories enhance business.
Experience Computer Science & Coding
If you’re fascinated by computers and information technology, this computer science summer course is a great option. You’ll develop your knowledge of programming languages and put your skills to the test by designing a website. You’ll also learn about the development of computing throughout history and explore the future of Artificial Intelligence.
Experience Creative Writing
Where better than Oxford to hone your skills in creative writing? Get inspired by the city that was home to Tolkien, Lewis Carroll and Philip Pullman. In this course, you’ll explore different genres and plot-types, learn about the importance of dialogue, and practise different techniques to hone your skills and ensure writing becomes a part of your daily routine.
Experience Debate & Public Speaking
Want to improve your public speaking and debate skills? This debating summer course will help you develop confidence, learn persuasive techniques, and practise the art of rebuttal — skills that are essential in many careers and day-to-day life. You’ll learn what made famous speeches so powerful and put your skills to the test in our international diplomacy challenge.
Experience Engineering
If you love understanding how things work and exploring individual components of machines and structures, there’s a good chance you’re considering engineering as an area of study. On this engineering summer course, you’ll explore the differences between mechanical, civil and electrical engineering — and build your very own engine.
Experience International Relations, Politics & Leadership
Experience Law
Are you considering a career as a lawyer? This summer law course will give you a strong understanding of the legal system and different types of law, including human rights, international, corporate, and criminal. You’ll put your new-found understanding into practice with a mock trial.
Experience Medicine
Curious to explore the field of medicine and see what it’s like to be a doctor? This course is designed to give students a deeper understanding of different specialties and medical ethics. You’ll also get hands-on experience with both clinical tasks and doctor-patient communication skills.
Experience Psychology & Neuroscience
Fascinated by the human mind, thought and behaviour? If you’re thinking of studying psychology, this course will give you a great head start. You’ll learn how to define and measure personality, explore the connection between language and thought, and start to better understand social psychology and human interaction. You’ll also learn practical research skills.

8AM-9AM: Breakfast
Enjoy a healthy and filling continental breakfast in your accommodation each morning.
9AM-1PM: Classes and independent study
Each day, you’ll have a two-hour class and be given reading or work by your tutor to complete in your two hours of independent study.
*Except on your second Sunday, when you’ll have a Hero session followed by brunch and free time.
1PM-2PM: Lunch
Relax and visit one of Oxford’s many healthy and delicious cafes or restaurants for your midday meal.
2PM-5/6PM: Daytime activities
From city tours and day trips to sports and Masterclasses, your afternoons will be filled with fun and learning — see below for details.
5-6 or 6-7PM (depending on activities): Dinner
We go out and explore Oxford’s exciting variety of restaurants in the evening.
6/7PM onward: Evening activities
From outdoor plays and activities to socials, your evenings will be filled with socialising and enjoying the city of Oxford — see below for details.

With expert tuition, Masterclasses on topics such as how to navigate university and college applications, and the chance to speak to successful young professionals building careers in areas that interest you, you’ll leave us with much greater clarity about your future direction.
2. Experience Oxford
We’ll give you the chance to experience the very best of what Oxford has to offer. You’ll follow in the footsteps of famous faces of past and present including former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, actress and campaigner Emma Watson and astronaut Buzz Aldrin when you speak at the historic Oxford Union during our Debating Masterclass. You’ll take classes in spectacular surroundings like the Blavatnik School of Government. When you graduate on successful completion of your Oxford summer programme, you’ll do so at the prestigious Saïd Business School.
3. Prepare for A Rapidly Changing World
Today knowledge is available at the touch of a button, so a successful education needs to be more than learning facts and taking exams. Our tutors will introduce you to cutting-edge projects at the forefront of their research and we’ll give you a taste of your future, helping to inspire you to develop the skills and expertise needed to thrive in the workplace of the future.
4. Discover Oxford
Synonymous with academic excellence and architectural beauty, Oxford lies at the heart of the leafy English county of Oxfordshire. Only an hour from London by train, the city has housed scholars and royalty for hundreds of years and is now also home to a thriving start-up and tech community. You’ll discover the traditions and experiences Oxford is famous for, such as punting on the river.
5. Make International Friendships For Life
Many different nationalities are represented at our summer camp each yaer. You’ll learn about other cultures, experiences, beliefts and traditions from young people just like you. You’ll get to celebrate together during our annual Ball on a boat on the historic River Thames. And you’ll leave with friends all over the world.
12-18 years old
We offer scholarships for students who have been nominated by a teacher at one of our Partner Schools, and who would otherwise be unable to attend.
A scholarship entitles you to a place on our OxBright programme for free.
