The International Summer Camp at Schloss Neubeuern offers a small group of 12 to 14-year-olds from Germany and around the globe a unique opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at one of Germany’s leading boarding schools.
The camp includes small-group lessons of up to 8 pupils in either German as a Foreign Language or in the core subjects of the German curriculum (options: German, English and Mathematics).
Camp participants can choose one of five challenging, intensive afternoon projects:
- The Digital Future of School: coding, robotics, 3D-printing and mixed reality
- Fashion and You: The Fashion Design Project
- ACT: The Theatre Project
- Show me Your Food: The Cooking Tutorial Project
- Hole-in-One: The Golf Project
Here again, the projects provide a framework for the achievement of a specific outcome over the course of the two weeks. It is therefore not possible to switch projects during the camp.
Wednesday afternoons are used for excursions out into the surrounding region. The first involves a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour of a local business, while the second on Wednesday there is either a guided tour of the city or a visit to the Bavaria Film Studios.
Whether it's a refreshing swim in Lake Neubeuern with standup paddling, a friendly basketball match on the streetball court, or an evening of go-karting, laser tag, or camel riding - here you get to know and love the benefits of boarding school life . But boarding school life also means expanding your horizons and leaving your comfort zone. That's why abseiling from our almost 30-meter-high castle tower is one of the highlights of the camp. Adrenaline and excitement are promised! Despite the many exciting activities, there is enough time to get to know each other. For example at the big disco evening in our castle bar. Even though language difficulties are sometimes a given, lifelong friendships have been formed here.
The girls and boys who join us for the Summer Camp are accommodated in double rooms with en suite bathrooms in the comfortable, modern Kronehaus. In addition to a spacious lounge and fully equipped kitchen, they also have access to washing machines/dryers, ironing facilities and a music room with a piano. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned by our cleaning staff every morning.
Each pupil is supported and challenged according to their individual abilities and interests. Lessons are highly media-assisted and focus on project work that leads to the achievement of a tangible outcome.
The iPads given to each pupil are individually configured to enable them to carry out their schoolwork and gain an insight into 21st-century learning. This includes access to applications such as SOFATUTOR and BETTERMARKS.
The International Summer Camp is designed to give participants a realistic experience of life as a boarder at Schloss Neubeuern. They therefore wear school uniform when in class and spend two weeks living according to the regulations and guidelines of our School and Boarding School Rules. In addition to the rhythm of lessons, project work, sport and creative activities, they also gain a first-hand impression of just how enriching – and strenuous – boarding school life can be.
A maximum of 16 girls and 16 boys each aged between 12 and 14 from Germany and all over the world.
