Academics

Top junior year students currently attending high school in Latin America are invited to apply for an opportunity to participate in a week-long enrichment program featuring interdisciplinary classes with leading faculty, tours of UChicago’s cutting-edge research facilities, and college application workshops. Students will also be exposed to the kinds of opportunities available in a large urban center for academic work and professional development through activities that showcase the city of Chicago. In the past, students have been able to attend improv shows, watch baseball games, ride on architecture boat tours, and eat at some of Chicago's most notable restaurants.

Format

On-campus, residential

Program Details

Individual schedules for each enrichment program will vary, but a typical day will begin at 9:00 a.m. with lectures, discussion sections, or workshops in the morning. Afternoons typically consist of an on-campus tour, excursion to another part of the city, or hands-on activity related to the subject area of the program. Evenings typically consist of either open social time or activities or events planned by either program or residential staff. Students participating in the Enrichment Programs have access to the residence hall and dining hall, but are subject to more limited access of university facilities, and will not have access to the Student Wellness Center or the Athletic Center. For tours or activities on campus, program staff will secure entry and access for program participants as needed.
