M&TSI is an extremely rigorous, non-stop, fast-paced college course that introduces students to the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for successfully linking technology and management concepts in just three weeks.






Highlights of M&TSI include:
Courses taught by full-time Wharton and Penn Engineering faculty
Attendees explore Penn’s business and engineering offerings, hearing guest lectures from prominent faculty recognized as leaders in their field
Students build and present a prototype and go-to-market plan for their own high-tech venture
Project presentations are evaluated by Penn faculty, receiving feedback from seasoned entrepreneurs and investors
Students participate in simulations led by industry innovators such as Google
Attendees receive a full Penn college-course credit for successful completion of program.
On-Campus program include: 1 college credit unit from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, use of Penn academic facilities and labs, on-campus housing, two meals a day Monday-Friday, two meals on Sunday (no meals Saturday due to excursions/activities), extracurricular activities and trips, student supervision.
On-Campus program not included: Non-refundable $100 application fee, travel to/from Penn’s campus, Pottruck Gym access; off-campus meals; medical expenses; laundry; and personal spending money
M&TSI is a rigorous and rewarding for-credit summer program for rising high school seniors and a select number of rising high school juniors interested in exploring the integration of technological concepts and management principles. M&TSI selects 75 participants to attend the summer program. Selections are based on academic achievement and leadership in extracurricular activities (including school and non-school-based activities such as student government, community service, artistic and cultural, and athletic activities).
Video Submission: Please record a 90-second video of yourself sharing any additional comments you might have. Feel free to speak about yourself, your application, your interest in M&TSI, or anything you feel will help us get to know you better. Please provide the URL of your video within your online application.
If submitting a video supplement is not possible, you may submit a 500 word written statement as a substitute. This statement should address the same topics as a video and should be uploaded directly to the application system.
Non-native English speakers should submit test scores to verify English language proficiency. If the student attends a high school where the primary language of instruction is English, this requirement is automatically waived. If submitting test scores, please note the admissions committee prefers TOEFL or IELTS scores, when available. The minimum TOEFL score required for admission is 100 (iBT.) The minimum IELTS score required is a 7. If TOEFL or IELTS scores are not available, applicants may submit PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores as an alternate. To submit, please upload an unofficial copy of your score report to the online application.
Deadline
All International applicants and students seeking scholarship funding are strongly encouraged to apply by the Priority Deadline.
A non-refundable application fee of $100 is required for each application submitted. This is payable by credit card directly through the application system.
Financial Aid
The M&T Program is committed to supporting academically ambitious students with demonstrated financial need. Through a variety of need-based scholarships and financial awards, we are able to provide full or partial funding for a select number of eligible program participants.
